All drivers and tools on Recovery CD are adapted to work properly with the notebook and it can be sometimes a big problem to prepare the notebook on your own with some specific configuration. This was after I wiped the hard drive and reinstalled the “factory fresh” disk image the first time this problem appeared. I have recover the system using the recovery CD After I encountered the problem I tried to reinstall drivers and software for the wireless network card from the original Toshiba CD, but did not helped. I uninstalled the wireless driver in safe mode, then rebooted normally after making the boot. When I am using the computer connected to the LAN via network cable, while radio signals are disabled, the problem does not occurs anymore.

It is very strange that since one particular moment this issue has occurred. If there is Atheros card from the beginning it must be installed properly because the right driver is already installed on Recovery CD. One difference I have to your system is the ar If you have problem with wireless connection check all settings and try to configure it again.
In my opinion if there is no solution for your issue you should contact Service partner in your country.

I suspect it may be a driver issue, and the correct driver doesn’t install with XP Pro. There it was stated that my wireless card was bad, and I would have to send in my machine to get it repaired.

It seems that the wireless driver wants to be the last to be installed. Since a few weeks I encounter from time to time system crash, the computer hangs: With it off there are no problems. Ventilator fans are still spinning. Select type of offense: You can check device manager and check if there is some hardware conflict.
The same configuration did worked without problems for about 3 months.

Get the new Atheros driver from here. If there is everything ok and all hardware components are recognized and installed properly there must be some another problem.
